In response to Erin's commentary about Anne Coulter.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Putting aside the fact that this post was created purely for an assignment, and the possibility that this is just plain liberal bait I would have to disagree with the substance of this blog post.
Anne Coulter serves a growing market of Americans disenfranchised to the political system. As outlined in Matt Tiabbi's "The Great Derangement" We see them everywhere; 9/11, Moon Landing & JFK Assassination conspiracists, are a growing population of American citizens that are seeking ever stranger answers to simple un-desirable and un-attractive reality.
You may argue that I am not addressing the point Anne Coulter made about the popular vote as portrayed by the media from one instance to the other. However to argue within a context Coulter has established is equivalent to monkeys throwing crap at each other.
Anne Coulter loses her credibility when she makes blanket statements such as "All Liberals", a demonization of a class of people that is difficult to assign to any individual person. Sure we have characters in the media that are the personification of certain political views, but these are just characters and extremes. Most people in the United States have a true amalgamation of beliefs and principles derived from the very richness of our experience and education.
The assertion in your own post about the "Liberal Bias Media" is an absurd projected image created by various authors other media producers as a boogeyman of sorts. It is a tactic of fear that has it's roots in McCarthyism, but is used to sell opinions versus garnering political power at the expense of others.
In spite of all the logical arguments, the social precedence and morality that refutes Anne Coulter, I like to think about things in terms of dollars. In business we are always thought to follow the money. In this case, following the money leads me to believe less in the authenticity of anything Coulter produces because she resembles more of a marketer who sells us opinions to feed our inner demon of bigotry and hatred which most likely stems from fear. It also makes me less likely to believe in a Liberally biased media which has it's financial base in advertising dollars, and if at risk to anything is at risk to being overly commercialized and the lapdog to corporations than the vanguard of the so called "Liberal Cult".
Anne Coutler is no demon, and definitely not a saint. If I had my guess, when she clocks out she probably has a fairly moderate view on politics and life. However when she clocks in, her and a team of writers and producers start churning out the next sensationalist candy.
